What is To The Bank Tuesday? It’s weekly encouragement and ideas to help you save money in easy ways. Encouragement to be frugal not miserly. No one likes a miser!
How I Saved This Week
-While doing my meal planning I’ve been focusing on either meatless or no cheese meals. Meat and cheese are very expensive compared to vegetables. The one cheese heavy meal I made this week was meatless while my meat containing meals didn’t include cheese. I also made a big black bean quinoa salad on Saturday. It is cheap to make, delicious and both meat and cheese free.
-I bought a bag of chips at the store and once we got home I realized they had been opened a little in the store. Instead of throwing them out, I went ahead and exchanged them. That wasn’t a huge amount of money saved but it was better than throwing money in the trash.
-We took a field trip to the zoo this week for free, well kind of free. Last June we bought a membership to a local zoo. It only cost a little bit more than one trip to the zoo and we can use it as many times as we want all year. We packed our lunch and snacks so that we didn’t have to pay for the overpriced food. After a week of rain we really enjoyed the sunny weather.
-We planted more potatoes and Swiss chard in our garden. We also planted herbs in the pots on our front porch. Spring is here!!!!
