How I Saved Money This Week

-We visited the Dallas Museum of Art on a field trip.  We studied Durer this year at our co-op and a mom in our group organized a private tour for us.  Sadly, the Durer exhibit had been taken down five days before our visit.  We still had a great time, I’ll be posting about our visit soon.  The museum was free except for the $10 parking. We packed a picnic lunch and enjoyed a great family outing for almost free.

-I found the older boys’ Latin and math curriculum for next year at another homeschool family’s moving sale.  That saved us about $60 in the homeschool budget.

-My son’s bike has been limping along for a while.  It’s a little rusty and the chain falls off sometimes, we knew he would be needing a new one soon.  I saw a bike in almost new condition at a church garage sale and I grabbed it.  It was $15 so we saved around $60.

– We found a wallet/flashlight combo gift sets at Target for 75% off that was leftover from Christmas. We grabbed two of the sets to put away for our youngest boys for Christmas this year.  They don’t have wallets yet and they will love having their own flashlight.
